Ok, I asked earlier if I really needed the apple av cable to connect my iPod and tv. I guess you don't, you just have to switch the colors around. I've tried every combination of plugs and settings. I live in the USA so I have to have the iPod set to NTSC, but I tried PAL just in case. It's set to TV out. Tv is set on proper input channel. But here is the problem:

Depending on the combination of plugs I either get no picture and a buzzing sound along with regular sound, or I get perfect sound along with a black and white, bouncing picture like the tracking was bad.

I've tried it on several different tv's. I've even tried going through a vcr before i get to the tv. I tried a different av cord. I adjusted all of the settings and still can't manage to get a proper picture and sound. What can I do?

I am trying to play video. In fact it's a series of Lost Season 3 episodes that I purchased on iTunes and downloaded. They are on my iPod. I'm not an idiot and know that songs only play sound and video has both. Duh. I also know that the iPod menu won't show up on the TV. I don't want it to. I also have the video out setting set properly. If your going to insult me, then don't answer my question.

Apple designed the ipod so you need the apple ac cable for it to work. It really sucks, but that's the way it is. sorry

First of all, There is a setting on you ipod that allows video to be out putted. Make sure that is on. You are only going to get a picture if you are playing a video. Songs just play sound. Videos do both.
Seconf, in my opinion the apple cord sucks. one that just goes throught the head phone jack on your ipod.

One more time. Songs only play sound. You will never see the ipod menu on your tv. Play a video with all the right settings. It shold work.

While i dont no the name brang of the on i got. It was the cheapest cord fries has to offer. Works fine, and every time.

Here is a site that lets you convert DVD's to your ipod in Higher resoultion then the other converters ( note: Movies in the higher resloution will only play on your tv, not your ipod)
its the first link listed

If you need it that bad. Email me and ill track down the cable maker.
