They tell me that my 6 month old has a SLIGHT concussion.... (for more information on this question, read my other question.)

in children, the bones in the entire body are much more pliable than in adults. this means that they "give" more...
there is a fracture in children called a greenstick fracture- it means that the fracture is not as severe as the same fracture in an adult would be...

in a concussion, the same applies- most likely it is just barely split, but the flexibility of a child's bones makes it less serious than the same thing would be in an adult (it would cause breakage or shattering in an adult- where it causes a slight crevice in a child)

this is a normal occurance for clumsy kids- especially at 6 mos old- learning to sit up and cruise around your furniature, it would be very easy to fall- or even take a tumble from a sofa or bed... kids get hurt easily, thats why their bones aren't hard enough to break yet at that age!
