how and when individual become famous?

when someone encourages someone else to expand on a special talent thats accepted by today's society.
ex: today ppl like stars who's tall, hot, cute, can sing, act, humorous...etc.
but not so much classical music writter, translator, or anything that speaks against what today's society thinks is right.
oh ya, or they get so annoyed by today's society. Al Gore for one, everyone thinks he's so like last century but he's pretty famous or MJ people are so scared of him that they put him on tv everytime he does sumthing.
