i have to write paraphase on from "the life of olaudah equiano" and this is the passage i have to paraphrase..... "O, ye nominal Christians! Might not an African ask you--Learned you this from your God, who says unto you, Do unto all men as you would men should do unto you?...Surely, this is a new refinement in cruelty, which, while it has no advantage to atone for it, thus affravates distress, and adds fresh horrors even to the wrtechedness of slavery,".....this is the passage and after that I have to write a 3 paragraph essay on how the meaning of this passage affected me or the world today...DO ANY OF YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS OR HINTS TO GIVE...MUCH THANKS! THIS IS DUE TOMORROW ALSO!!!

Ideally, this should fall under the Homework category.
The quote is in old English but I (myself) can be paraphrase it thus: "You who regard yourselves principally as Christians! Can an African not ask you - this that your God taught - Do to others what you would they do to you! . . . Surely this is good counsel against cruelty which though cannot be better said, goes unheeded in the light of the distress and suffering of slavery."

Of course you realize the biblical quotation, do unto others as you would they do unto you, which is the cornerstone of Jesus' teachings. It urges all to be kind and to each other and treat them humanely. Don't you see how that affects you individually and the world at large today?Don't you know that some families have more material things than others, TV computers, big mansions etc! it is the same in communities and relations between countries. Some are richer than others. Unfortunately the rich ones don't care about the poor, in fact exploit them a lot.
