The Heisman has become an award for the best player on the best team. Well, probably the best 1 or 2 teams. The last one to break that most was Barry Sanders, but his numbers were so obscene they couldn't ignore him.

Brennan has two problems.
1) A lot of Heisman voters don't just vote off stats they see in a box score on Sunday. They like to watch the players and see the things that don't show up on the scoreboard. Because Colt plays in Hawaii and the games are on so late, a lot of East Coast and Mid West voters don't get to see him. Exposure is just as critical as talent and stats for winning a Heisman.
2) He plays in a conference that, lets just face it, is less talented than the major conferences. So game in and game out, with a couple of exceptions, he is playing against inferior players than the likes of Troy Smith, Jamarcus Russell, Brady Quinn etc.

in some ways, yes. the public spotlight was on smith, not brennan, and therefore people saw him and his amazing games.
remember, the heisman has nothing to do with sound playing or (almost), ability. the most exciting player is the one who will most likely win. if it was run by stats, brennan would have blown smith away.
i'd like to add that smith will go second round to the browns, get cut after three years, and play on the arena football austin wranglers for the rest of his career

Well to answer your question I think you can be on a bad team and win the Heisman but I think your fans would watch you more and she how much better you are than everybody else but you can be on a bad team and win the Heisman.

I think colts pretty good but im so tired of hearing that he should win the heisman. He plays weaker competition and he plays in a run and shoot. His numbers are like ty detmers, andre ware, danny wuerffel and every texas tech qb. He is purely a system qb, however good at it. A system qb will never win the heisman again.

In the messed up world of college football, yes you have to be on a good team to win the heisman.

Colt Brennen threw for 56TDs
and beats Quinn & Smith in just about every stat
so i think he deserves the Heismen good team or not
in fact if he made those stats with such a bad team then he must be good

Well, it helps. The problem is that the major schools get all the publicity. And if you want to win the Heisman, you need all the publicity you can get.

Usually, but you also have to play against good teams. I mean there is only one ranked team in the WAC and that is Boise State. If Colt Brennan had been passing against tougher secondaries, he wouldnt have put up the numbers he had.
