Number the Stars by Lois Lowry is a fine choice, unfortunately it is only about 140 pages long. When you get the chance, read it anyway, for your own enjoyment.

If you are young try "the Man from the Other Side" by Yuri Orlev.

"It is the true story of a teenager's experiences in the Warsaw Ghetto during World War II, as he discovers his own heritage and finds himself caught up in the war through underground dealings."
