There is a reason for everything happening but everything does not necessarily happen for a reason. Don't get mixed up on this. The difference is critical.

No; I do not believe that.
Bear in mind that our relative positions on this question are purely a matter of belief. I cannot prove my position nor disprove yours.
Things......happen.
It would be very sad and very unacceptable to me if everything were somehow just predetermined and I was nothing more than a pawn in some superior beings grand play.
We may - or may not - be able to occasionally learn something from our experiences, but I believe that when the universe was created, the laws of physics were set into play, along with the laws of probability.
That suggests that some - or many - actions and reactions are totally random.
As far as a "person for everyone," no, I don't believe that either. There may be any number of people with whom you could be compatible, but it is totally up to us as individuals to find and choose our mates.
Some choose wisely and some stupidly. Some get lucky, and some can never win.
That's the way it goes...

First, I don't believe everything happens for a "reason"~if you mean fate or destiny. Things "happen" from cause & effect. Choices. Perhaps also, who we "are" ( which also ties in with choices). In retrospect, & very subjectively, we can "assume" there were "reasons." In some way, this justifies to some people, why they made the choices that they did. I don't think this is sound logic. Just my opinion, of course. As to the second question~another no. (Isn't this basically the same "logic?") Life is pure serendipity. People aren't out there, "meant" to be together. If we cross paths in our journey, that's a wonderous thing. & it DOES happen. But rarely? It's sort of like~there are all these doors to open, OR doors that will open to you. It's difficult to explain. While life is unpredictable, we still have our measure of control & responsibility. But NOTHING is carved in stone. Rather delightful, I think. One last thought: Being a "lone" person has its rewards. That is, not "finding" the idealistic mutuality in one person, but expanding your horizons.

I do not believe that everything happens for a reason. Think about it, how could somebody possibly explain the Holocaust or other horrible genocides that resulted in the deaths of millions of people? On the other hand, I do believe that there is a reverse effect to actions. In other words, the more good things you do, the more good things you get back. If your actions are constantly bitter and hateful, I do believe that is what you will mostly get back. Now this isn't a hard and fast rule, but I do believe generally speaking, to some extent, you get what you give.

There's not one scintella of evidence of a pre-ordained plan. What makes a person stand out anyway?
Greatness may last a thousand years for a few and eternally for none. On the scale of earthly time, individual lives are but mere blinks of an eye. We're born, we live, we die and then you're not heard from ever again. There might be a tombstone or family tree made with your name on it, but eventually the tombstone weathers from age and who knows what media your family tree will be used. All the memories and accomplishments will be totally forgotten, unless you're a Hitler or Alexander the Great type person.
In a thousand years, your bones will be dust and no other trace of your existence will be seen, unless, of course you become fossilized for some reason, but even then, after thousands of years more, that will be disintegrated into dust. We influence the lives of our children and others, but they too will eventually die. So what's the point of living?
In astronomical terms, the Earth will eventually succumb to the supernova of our Sun, it's an astonomically certainty the earth will be burned to a crisp.
So does death render our lives meaningless. If we were immortal, that would be the ultimate in boredom, repetition, day after day, of doing the same thing for thousands of years (hundreds may be OK, but nothing beyond that)....but i digress, back to your question.
It all boils down to how creative we can be in the short period of time we have on this earth....Our activities need to be worthwhile for their own sake, not because they fulfill some supernatural transcendental purpose....LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST DAMNIT, YOU WON'T GET A SECOND CHANCE!!!

No, most events are random. Or do you mean do events have causes? David Hume showed a couple of centuries ago that "cause and effect" are our way of organizing events and not necessarily a property of the real world. What happens is that we are good at rationalizing, finding reasons for things. [my college roommate accused me of being able to rationalize anything] A world full of reasons for things feels safer and more comfortable than a world without reasons. Random is frightening, dangerous.
Also, there are probably thousands of people each of us could be happy with, not just one, but when we finally get over our selfishness enough to be a good partner for someone, it sure FEELS like we're meant to be together.

yes everything does happen for a reason
if you look at ur own life, u will find many events that happened for a reason, i mean many....but i know u'll also find events that to you might not seem like they happened for a reason....and its like that with all of us....
that's because all of us have a limited mind, we cannot see the reality of things, we are unable to see EVERYTHING...
we are like a fish in the ocean, and the fish can only see so far, but to see the whole ocean, the fish must come outside of the ocean, so we will never be able to see everything...because if the fish comes out of the ocean it will die, just like us trying to see everything....my point is that we cannot see everything, we can be open-minded and see a lot, but not everything,
Since we cant see everything, we cant believe in the fact that things do happen for a reason...
like say u didn't win something, well someone did win, and it might have meant so much more to them then it did to you, so there was a reason for u to lose, and there might be alot more reasons, and for us, it might just seem something without a reason, because we can't see everything....
no matter what event it is, no matter whats happening in the world, it is all happening for a reason, and at this time, we might not be able to tell what that reason is!!!

yes, yes and no. Things happen for a reason but the reason is sometimes not evident until years later. I dont think that everyone has someone to marry or fall in love with. Some people just dont want that..but if you do, then there is someone out for you, just takes some time

'Contingency' is the word that's missing above. (And yes it exists.)
No, i do not believe in what you appear to intend (read on).
Reasons are (usually) reasonable.
If you mean that i would have a reason for everything that happens to me, then, no, i cannot believe everything happens for a reason (some is contingent).
On the other hand, if you believe their is some 'rational' supreme being who's making us do things (with his reasons) then the meaning of reason is not one that i can understand. So in this last case i would have to plead agnostic. But i dont like the idea of a supreme being with human like properties... That's just bad religion...
(I'm atheist by the way. But that's another question...)

i do, i believe that for every so called player, eventually he will meet a heartbreaker. I also hate when people discourage someone by telling them that their dream girl/boy doesn't exist.Like if u we're to say I want a smart girl, who is also in sports, but likes to be a model. Who's to say their isn't a girl like her out there somewhere. I know me personally, I felt like everything is for a reason and I'm still not sure if it is or not. I do know that I can't control things that may happen to me from time to time. Eventually you learn to roll with the punches from life.

Absolutely..........Quantum physics
Before you took your human body, you & other souls close to you made a plan to come together so you could experience what you choose. We all play a role in other's lives.
People are definately meant to meet. Relationships are lifes school of learning.
It all happens according to plan. How you react & what you do in response is your free will.
Like a video game there are multiple outcomes. It all depends on your next move. Each move creates other multiple moves or possibilities. It's all up to you. You'll never know that waking up late one morning saved you from an accident. Leaving a class caused you to miss someone. It's all a delicate balance.
Not destiny, but reason and it's all up to you.
