A masterful document in my opinion. A written declaration of war supported by attractive arguments centered around concepts of liberty, fairness and self determination. The message contained therein would galvanize a nation, solicit the sympathy of foreign peoples, and demonstrate a political prowess in order to garner the support of France and threaten Great Britain.

The cause for war should always be carefully laid out and supported with just reasons. In addition to a strong military, a country at war should have the support of both its citizenry and its allies. In war, allies may become enemies, enemies may become allies, and victory may prove to be elusive.

Just a side note here - the Declaration of Independence is not the same as the Constitution of the United States of America. The Constitution is our supreme law of the land. The Declaration of Independence was just that, a declaration stating our country's Independence from Great Britain.

A rather loosely interpreted document that has never quite covered all the bases this booming country came up with, hence all the amendments. Being born and raised in the midwest in the 50's, I can't say too much negative about the law of the land, maybe I could find a few things to ***** about its social application in modern times as in Feb. 14, 2007, 7:10 P.M., New York time. My life as a kid in a hick town was good and we're talking the fifties. Right now it seems like those old documents(Declaration of Independence),(what a name) are collecting dust in some attic while the real so-called will of the people is spelled out on Fox News every few seconds. I like to hope there is a general goodwill abiding in most people. Thank you.

It is the greatest document of it's kind ever to be written.

From pen of man it is hard to find the equal of the first 2 and final paragraph of this document.
