It means that someone wants to hit you. Often you need to be whacked after doing a stupid mistake. They usually do NOT hit you.

For example:
"I told you to bring home that paper tonight! Where is it?"
"Oh, mom, I forget it again"
"You are so forgetful. I should give you a whack on the side on the head. TOMORROW you must bring it!"

A whack upside the head. A light slap, usually from the back, moving upward, forcing your head forward and down (and most of the time you don't see it coming). You may see this in old movies when a youth is reprimanded. These days it would surely be frowned upon, but as one of the folks said, you might still see a granny do it. It can also be used as a threat... "If you don't stop it, you're gonna get a whack upside the head!"
