It would be like believing in Santa Claus, because in order for a "hollywood" production simulation to be incorporated into the mass of monitors and controls at Houston Mission control, Santa and an army of technicians, IT personnel and graphical experts would have to drop down the chimney while the controllers were asleep, leave their bag of goodies in the systems, and get out before the 50 or so controllers woke up.

They would probably have to repeat this trick dozens of times, as anyone who was involved in systems integration in the 60's and 70's knows that such a complex system would never go without a hitch - not even the tenth installment.

Then the simulation would have to work without a hitch for several years, when just the slightest deviation from reality would be picked up by the controllers.

I think you are referring to members of The Flat Earth Society - the pictures of a spherical earth really upset them and proved beyond any reasonable doubt that the landings, as well as the pictures, had to be faked!

Huh? You don't believe in Santa Claus? !!

Oh! You're saying that Santa Claus landed on the Moon?

P.S. Don't forget, 1000's of people would have to keep the secret for decades.

Its not stupidity, its youth.
The people who don't believe the moon landings happened are probably all under 30.
They grew up with computers, CGI, and all our modern technology, and they don't realize that all of that didn't exist in the 1960's.
They just don't know any better.
