It's no longer growing, it's played out and fading away. I don't know where it started but think about it: Who would win in a fight between a lone ninja and a ship full of pirates? Remember the Inverse Law of Ninja Effectiveness. One ninja can destroy an entire army, but an army of ninjas is ineffective and can be mown down by a small number of turtles with attitude.

Well the ninja thing is the generation that is just going 'adult' grew up with the ninja turtles...and pirates...yeah Johnny Depp made them cool again.
And of course there's all the anime that has pirates and ninjas in it...and that's more popular than it used to be...plus when you download stuff you didn't pay for online...you're a pirate...but really...i bet it has to do with the generation that's just turning 21...we love ninjas and pirates...

The thing was a question "who would win in a fight, Pirates or Ninjas?" All it is is people taking 2 things that most likely would never fight and are the complete opposites and trying to see who people think would win.

Pirates is due to Pirates of the Caribbean. No idea where the ninjas come from.

I don't see the Ninja thing, but for the pirates--take a good, long look at Disney. Really long.

properly properly properly there. :) Pirates :) via fact their greater careful in existence. in comparison to Ninjas to concentration on their Enemies without residing a actual existence. Pirates on the different hand can locate sea creatures unknown, even dinosaurs sea creatures, and ninjas got here bump into unusual creatures, dinos, cryptoids..etc. yet pirates look cooler. ;) yet i'ma flow with ninjas reason you my chum, ROCKS!!!!!!!!

Ninjas were assassins. Pirates still exist and they continue to kill, kidnap and rob for profit. I find neither particularly attractive. Others, however, fancy themselves as rebels and seem to identify with them.
