I know the background of the steal you face symbol for Greatful Dead, but what I can't figure out is how the skull is made out of writing that says Grateful Dead. Can anybody figure out how the writing makes the skull because I can't.

FYI - It's GRATEFUL Dead not Greatful Dead!!

I also have tried to see the writing but have never been able to figure it out.

the link in the sources goes to Owsley Stanley's (aka the Bear) page where he explains the origin of the SYF logo and how Bob Thomas and The Bear collaborated on the design. If you read the page, I think the only person who could explain it would be Bob Thomas, but he's dead.

Where did you hear that? I have been a Dead fan forever and thats a new one. I can tell you there are 13 tips on the lightening bolt and 8 teeth but hidden writing nope.
