YES> those three women are a pathetic group. The fact that they even try to claim that they are part of the country genre is a disgrace. Country music is PATRIOTIC. They are selfish little snots who used the fact that they get attention to blow off a bunch of BS about politics (which, if you listen to their full statement, it was about as ignorant as you can get). I am soooo proud of all the country stations that banned them. Don't be part of a musical genre that you don't believe in.

The fact is that the Dixie Chicks won five Grammies because they make straight up good music. That's why they've sold so many albums. The corporate promoters didn't promote their concerts in Poddunk. At a global level who needs PoddunK? Most of the mainstream country artists, today, are closer to southern rock than pure country, any way. They're singing redneck songs with electric guitars and a rock beat. Toby Keith is more like Lynard Skynard than Buck Owens. The Dixie Chicks get back to country roots, using a fiddle and acoustic guitar with excellent vocals. They are also very hot!

Sadly the Grammys have become too political and it's more about pushing the music business, as opposed to rewarding true talent.

The choices for the award recipients show it, too.

No, it's because they "struck out" against their critics and "persevered" and the Grammy people like that kind of bullocks. "Ooh, how brave they are! Preaching about free speech! Oooohh!!"

(that was sarcasm in case anyone missed it)
