I would cover the top with Seran wrap tightly then put tape around the wrap and the blender. Make sure you hold the around the blender (not motor part) well making sure the wrap is secure so it won't come off as you turn it on.

Use something to cover the top of the blender. :) You could also buy a new one.

get a piece of foil to put over it...otherwise you will have smoothie everywhere but the blender. =]

I would like not take a chance but like thke like 3 sheets of paper towel and then take the paper and then there wouldn't be a mess.
