You are legally obliged to buy, in theory. I think maybe in theory they could sue you or something, unless you come up with a very solid excuse.

In reality they will get really pissed off and you will get negative feedback. You will be able to keep using the site.

The main repercussions are it makes you a dick and it makes you look bad. It wastes the seller's time and their listing fee, and they may not get as much even as the 2nd bid if they try to sell it again. Maybe it's worth doing however if you don't want to blow a load of money on something you don't want.

Well, technically, you're suppose to buy it because it's like an auction, and you can't back out of an auction.

But in reality, it's going to be hard for the seller to force you to hand over the money. The downside to this is that you'll get a negative feedback, and your feedback is like your credit score. The higher your positive feedback score, the more likely that others will likely to accept your bid, and also more likely that people will bid on your items.

If you are the high winning bidder on an eBay item, you are obligated to purchase the item for which you won the bid. It is part of eBay's policy.

Yes you are obligated to buy.

If you don't, in addition to negative feedback, the seller can file unpaid item complaint against you. Too many of those can kick you out of Ebay.

Maybe, you can ask the seller to see if you can cover his/her re-listing fee and final value fee. Most of the time, seller will let you go if you do that.

BTW, what is your ebay id? So that, I can put you in the my bidder block list.

A winning bid on eBay is a contract between you and the seller. You are obligated to buy it if you win it.

Yes. Why would you bid if you are not going to buy?
The negative feedback you'll get will keep others from wanting to deal with you.

No. If you change your mind about it just let them know. Alot of
people will tell you otherwise because that might have been them
left holding the bag.

Don't bid if you don't plan to buy.
