i know of some women who were on the shot and still got pregnant. one of them had twins. it's not foolproof and you should understand that. that's why it says 98% or 99%. think about the other 1%-2%. the only for sure way not to conceive is to be celibate. then you know for sure! anything else is a gamble however slight the chances may be.

My experience after I had my son was not that hot! Before I left the hospital with my son I got the shot in my butt ( they needed a big muscle) and I thought everything would be fine. Well 2 mths later I was sexually active again ( with my sons father,no one else don't get it twisted) And then about 2 weeks or so later I started bleeding and I had a miscarriage. So I would not advice trying to get pregnant till it wares off If you don't it might not have the outcome u were hoping for and you will be crushed. My second pregnancy wasn't planed but it still hurt me that it didn't last! I don't want you to be hurt.

I had a little girl last May. I have been on the shot since August. Let me tell you that I was not sexually active since my daughter was conceived and was on the shot basically so I could get rid of my period, it was nice. I had sex the 23rd of Jan. and my shot was due the 25th. Hence, that was the first time ever!!! and it was unprotected the first time but protected the second, I went to the doctor told her what happened and she suggested I go to the patch, but I honest to God feel pregnant, I have nausea and feel it all day long and my breasts are tender....you can get pregnant on the shot!!! I guess it depends if your body rejects it or not. And you should consider talking to your doctor about you wanting to have a child since you have been on it, because sometimes it takes a while for you to get pregnant while on it if you were on it for a long period of time like a year. But I am just telling you what I know. :)))))

you have to wait until it wears off, that time is different for different manufacturer's, just ask the Dr's office where you got it
