Once before she died, I had a valentine's day with no romance in sight.
I got a card and sweets from my mum with the message:
"Loves are like transit buses, another one is on its way!"
That thought still warms my heart!
Charles "That Cheeky Lad--Cheekier every day!'

My dad had a massive heart attack 9 years ago today. That would happen to be my worst Valentine's Day in history. That's probably not the kind of answer you were looking for but it's the only one that is coming to mind. Well... there was one year when I managed a movie theater. I was single and several of the teenage boys that worked there and thought of me as a mother figure bought me a large balloon and card and showed up at my home requesting that they take me out to dinner. They were sweet peas! I felt a little uncomfortable but we had a nice time and I'll never forget their thoughtfulness. That is the most unusual "gift" that I've received. Have a happy day!

OMG! One time I was working at this cafe. The owners were super religious and their 3 daughters worked there as well.
This man who like me had dropped off a box of chocolates.
The box said Hedge hog chocolates.
One of the boss's daughters asked if they could have one?
Meanwhile I was busy cooking when she screamed!
There in the box to our surprise was a pair edible panties.

Well could have fried an egg off my face, and about a red as a Valentine's heart!

LOL The boss man was not impressed.

My ex got me a happy funtime jolly fat disgusting huge white bear with sickeningly sweet bulging eyes and it smelled like taffy when she KNEW I hated Valentine's Day gifts that had a "well, here you go" vibe to them. She bought that ugly thing on the day and I think we broke up a week after that if I'm not mistaken.

When i was a junior in highschool a boy i was friends with took me behind one of the school buildings to have a 'talk'. Well, i always knew he liked me as he had asked me out many times, each time i was as friendly as possible, but turned him down. He decided that the best way to win my heart would be to write out 101 reasons why he wanted to date me... and then read it out loud to me 0_o This may seem sweet to most people, but to me it was creepy. I couldnt depend on a friend to come and rescue me as we were some where no one could see us, so i was forced to listen to every single stakerish reason he wanted to date me. And then i had to turn him down again =(

I got a Christmas ornament from a boyfriend when I was in high school. I guess he completely forgot about Valentine's Day,and dug something up from his garage.

I've sent out e-cards this year, hopefully people will see that as quirky rather than cheap, but if I had to pay for cards then I wouldn't have bothered at all.

I sent a Teddygram. It was a teddy bear in a can with a personal message! It had to be opened, and then the bear popped out with the message.

I once received some dildo knickers. They were meant as a joke, but I would've preferred the usual chocolates, especially as they weren't even a good fit.
