its been 1 hour so far and he was called at 8am. Guess the correct amount of hours (or days...) before he arrives for 5 ***** - He's getting here at some time today apparently.

Most professionals will give you a time frame of some sort when making appointments for in home service. Sometimes they run into unforseen problems on a job that's scheduled ahead of you. Sometimes they will call to let you know if they're going to be very late, sometimes they just don't have that time available to them. Hopefully, you had sense enough to turn off the water main before you called.
