I went to watch Derby County play Bolton in 1993 and I got "beat up" by three policemen, I was in a right state my face was a mess, Its too much of a long story to tell you all about it here, but I did not do anything wrong and they tried to do me for threatening behaviour.

It wasn't all bad news, when they took me to court, the Bolton police didn't expect what happened next!! I had two Derby County stewards stand up and say I didn't do anything wrong in Bolton's ground and even better, Two Derby police man (who were stunned by what they saw) actually stood up in court and testified that they saw the police assault me.

I ended up receiving £4000 in compensation, but that took 4 YEARS to get!!!

I still have the cut outs from my local paper, when they covered the story!!

Your story, provided it is well researched and well written, may very well be accepted by any number of newspapers and/or magazines. You'll need to get all the facts surrounding your story, court papers and other archive material, in addition to adding your own personal recollections. You also need to try and interview some or all of the witnesses who appeared in court on your behalf.

There's a lot of press interest right now in football violence happening amongst Italian fans. No one wants that spreading to the terraces here in UK - maybe what you have to say will help throw some light on the subject, as of the past and what to be aware of. Not all of the violence on the terraces is fan-based, some may indeed be generated by the fuzz to make their day more exciting.

Maybe at the time some newspaper might have been interested. But its so irrelevant now i don't think anyone would be interested. Story's are put out that have links to current affairs but this is just too old, sorry.

But good on you though, they aint called pigs for nothing!

Unfortunatly your story casts the brave police force in an unfavorable light. Even if it is true as it seems, this story is going nowhere because it is not in the public interest and is politically incorrect.
Thank God you were not in London, or they would have held you down and shot you in the head.

I feel sorry for you but I am certain that no publisher would pay money for your story, which isn't really that interesting.
