I know a couple of gay teen's in my highschool. And sometimes people give them hell. Why would you choose that? Why would you want to be, not just diffrent, but feared and hatted? Weather or not I agree with it doesn't matter, their people and not hurting me... but so many people say it's a choice and I can't imagine choosing that. It's like social suicide in some places.

Born this way...

Both those who are born gay and those who are not have found that some forms of same sex activity are highly pleasurable.

That's the so-called elephant in the room that almost nobody talks about but that everybody makes rules about to try controlling it.

They know in their gut that many more than the gay segment would choose to do these things if opportunity allowed. That's where the "choice" debate really comes from.

Like Rumsfeld reportedly may or may not have said: "We don't want no fookin' Spartans in our army."

For the milliionth time no it is not. no one would choose a life style that would bring them hate and prejudise.it is biological and is an urge like being straight. It is God given and is alright, the people that dont think so are bigots and wrong to hate gays or there lifestyle. When a gay sees the same sex person, there turned on and cannot help it .there brain is wired differently or theres a different chemical make up,but is no choise

It's a good point, but I hate it when people use this argument to justify homosexuality.

There are people all over the world who make choices that get them teased, insulted, hurt, killed, and so on.

For example, in many places, particularly the more conservative, teenagers who choose to identify as and style themselves as "Goths" or "emos" get ragged on endlessly. They stick out like sore thumbs and many people are frightened of them and lash out.

So you see, people can choose to do all sorts of things that make them social outcasts and victims of violence and insult and so on.

A better argument for homosexuality is biological evidence that shows that sexuality has at least some basis in your genes, as well as asking straight people if they feel they can just 'choose to be gay' (they can't; sexual orientation isn't a choice).

Hope that makes sense!

It's only a choice when we decide to live honestly and openly as gay people rather than being timid and afraid and in the closet. We are gay because God/Nature prewired our brains that way while we were still in the womb.

You're exactly right. Why would someone choose it? They wouldn't! The fact is, no one chooses to be gay. People that are against gay peope will never accept this, because then they would have no one to bash or criticize.

nope, not a choice. your born either liking boys or girls and thats just the way it is. no one chooses what to be attracted to, there's even a study being done a supposed "gay monkies" which pretty much proves it's something found in nature and not a mental disease.

My personal opinion is that you are born with the genes that choosed your sexuality. It just takes longer for some to realize their feelings, either by their upbringing, backgrounds, and lifestyles. To each his own, is how I feel about it.

It isn't. I didn't choose to be rejected by so many. Besides there are gay animals in nature..

Definitely not a choice and not a bad lifestyle. Just different.
