I think it has to do with that pages of books and literature comes from trees. Therefore it's reaches are infinite.

anyways, maybe because it is very descriptive and gives the reader an immediate picture in their mind? the powerful use of words, and description? try looking up exactly what Literature means, and then try to bring this quote into those terms

It has to do with literature because in a way, it is king od poetic in the the sentence Their roots go down into the earth, but never touch the center.
In a way, it also has nothing to do with literature. It's inspiring, but I don't see how it goes in with everything. Help!
