i have a 2000 dodge intrepid..basically when i turn the key to start it it just makes a click sound..the lights and everything come on..i pump the brake and gas and turn it again and it comes on after a couple of trys..i dont know if me pumping has something to do with it, but any ideas what it could be? is it the starter?

Sounds like the starter is going out. There is a contact plate in the starter that gets burnt and when you try to start it, it just clicks. After a few attempts, it gets past the burnt spot and starts. Pumping the brakes and gas doesn't really effect it.

this sounds crazy but it will work. if it's an auto leave the car in park and the parhing brake off while rocking the car from the outside. if it starts it's the starter. u can do the same thing by leving the car in first gear if it's a stick.

your battery sounds like its about to take a shtt

if not check cables and alternator
