If you liked MacLeod, try some of his other books such as The Star Fraction and The Stone Canal - the stories are great although they do depend on you knowing quite a bit of politics, so they may not work for you. I didn't enjoy his Engines of Light series, starting with Cosmonaut Keep, but they might appeal to you.
Other authors in the same vein include Charlie Stross - especially Singularity Sky and Iron Sunrise - and Cory Doctorow - eg Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom, which is an SF book set in Disneyland in the near future.
You would probably enjoy Iain M Banks. Try Player of Games or Consider Phlebas which are probably easiest to start with.
Another possibility is Vernor Vinge. For a taste try the short story Fast Times at Fairmont High which you may be able to find online. But do try The Peace War and Marooned In Realtime.
That should be enough to be getting on with!

Well seeing as the book you've just read isn't what I was reading at 11 (!!) I'll recommend the sci-fi books I enjoy (& I'm not a huge 'censored' fan).
First off, Anne McCaffrey - Tower & Hive series (starting with The Rowan), The Crystal Singer, Petaybee, Acorna.
Secondly - I'll agree with the earlier suggestion about Star Wars expanded universe books - I'm a fan of the Jedi Apprentice books & I'm 19!
Thirdly, if you're willing to read fantasy I'd recommend Garth Nix's Old Kingdom trilogy, William Nicholson, CS Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia, Terry Brooks Shannara series
A good site to use to get an idea of other books is www.fantasticfiction.co.uk & use author's suggestions.
Have fun with a good book!

they're not really sci-fi, but there's always the star wars EU books.. they're all under PG-13.. and most of them are pretty good. Of course, if your don't like star wars.. then don't bother..
Sorry, i can't think of any good sci-fi that doesn't have any 'naughty' bits... there's usually there's some in there at some point.
You should ask your dad! If you borrowed some books off him already, i'm sure he'd be happy to suggest some you'd enjoy. :)

if your looking for something aimed at a younger audiance you could try "enders game" by orson scott card. its pretty good, and it lacks the 'censored' aspect of alot of scifi.
also - try asking your dad if he has any more macleod, im sure hed pick you something apropriate if you asked, and the man is damn good - best work to date is still "the star fraction" although it has a little bit of 'censored'.

i don't know. Sabriel is okay. I read it at 10. It might be too...too for you now. i was ahead of the gang back then, so I could handle all of it.
Just try it.
Sabriel by Garth Nix
