I have a 2006 Honda CRV Automatic - when I tried to put it into 2 gear, gear, the shift would not move. I can only drive it in Drive (1st).

Im not quite sure i understand the problem correctly, but if you mean that you can only put it in the main drive gear, but not the other lower speed gears, the problem could be your transmission has a lock that you have to turn to have your low speed gears available, or there is a button on your gearshift somewhere to let the gearshift move down into those gears. Check your owners manual

It could be a third gear clutch pressure switch which will likely cost just under $50 and simply attaches to the outside of the tranny like a sending unit would to the engine. On my 2002 I had the transmission light flashing and the code indicated this was the problem. Must be a somewhat common problem because the dealer had the part in stock. It was difficult to get to so I had a mechanic replace it but depending on how accessible yours is, and your abilities, you may be able to do it yourself. The parts department can also give you a print out showing the location of the switch.

it is a new vehicle and it is still undre warranty
