I am refering to pictures of other people?
do you think that their picture always looks different than they do in reality?
What about yourself? do you think you look more accurate in the mirror or photo?
Why does it change? if it does.

Ever since I learnt how to use Photoshop I think that all published photos lie. As to pictures of other people you'd be surprised how many people ask me to get rid of double chins and facial blemishes when they find I'm good at manipulating photographs. And in the main they are male!

As for me personally I hate having my photograph taken. I think all of us have an image of ourselves which differs from the reality. In my mind I'm still 18. In reality I'm considerably older than that!

Maybe it has to do with being used to see you self reflected "the wrong way"-- inverted -- like in mirrors, an when you see a picture of yourself you see yourself as other people do..normally.. "unflipped" that is probably why you (by you i mean I) hate your pictures, and to others you look ok! because there's a weirdness factor to you in seeing yourselves true image.??
I'm just guessing!
And bout other people.. i don't know.. your used to seeing movement.. and a frozen up "frame" of someones fraction o a second, can hide or exalt something that "in flesh" you'd miss...
again I'm just brainstorming here!!

Your image is definitely more accurate in the mirror. One of the reasons for a photo not being as good, is that you do not see it in 3D as you would with your own eyes.

We look like ourselves in photographs, not mirrors. Mirrors reflect a reverse image. And we see what we want to see in a mirror, but a photo shows it as it is. Many of us are very surprised by how we look and sound when we see and hear ourselves.
People look better in photos, for they pick those photos that are flattering to them...no big deal, but don't expect people to look exactly as a photo, for a photo freezes time, people do not operate in frozen time...their looks continually change. Good luck

I think it depends. My photos are of me and I think the camera adds weight to my photos. But I think my photos are true representations of what I look like, I do not touch up my photos. I read an article that said that almost every photo on the internet has been touched up in one way or altered. So that is a pretty broad question to answer. I look like me...

no the morrior does not lie but the camera sure does and some people just do not make a good picture. lot of it has to do with the person operating the camera.

It depends on the photo - i have some good ones and I have some bad ones.... but I think it's always best to make a judgement by seeing the person in the flesh.

I only put up the good looking photos of me on myspace! The photo editted ones are the ones that bring out my best features, that's why I edit them. It depends on the light of when they were taken too. But the only one I havent editted does look like me! Honest!

I think if you pose for a picture, you look ok.If the camera catches you unawares you see the real you and that can be scary!!!

I most defiantly think my mirror loves me more than my camera, but i don't under stand why, I'm no oil painting but my camera makes me look dark under the eyes, my chin droops, maybe i need a new camera, or maybe even plastic surgery, both of which i can't afford.
