I was diagnosed with PCOS about a year and a half ago. My husband and I have been ttc for a year now. I have been taking Vitex for 8 months now to help regulate my periods. It was working great until recently. My lmp was 11/23/06. For the past 2 weeks I have been having pg. symptoms (nausea, sore breasts, moodiness etc.) thought maybe AF was coming or possibly finally pg? I took 2 htp, both neg, but still wasn't convinced so I went to the dr's for a blood test which was also neg. Still no AF. Anyways, I am wondering if anyone has had a similar issue, and what I can do to "get my period". I know you aren't Dr's, just looking for some advice, or stories from people with similar experiences.

btw- im not sure what caused my period to vanish, but im not overweight, and i eat healthy. So I'm thinking it has nothing to do with diet...

That happened to me too! Except I was on Metformin....I also had preg symptoms (same ones you mentioned), took 2 preg test & both came out neg. I was also not convinced & took a blood preg test at my doctors....also negative! I have no idea what that was about. I was really confused.

That was a few months ago...I stopped taking metformin & was about to take vitex....I dont know whether to start metformin again or try out vitex.

I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2002. I havent had my period since Dec. =o(

Hope everything works out for you! If you wanna talk feel free to email me! lindamunoz01@yahoo.com

Been there, done that, still dealing w/ it!
I cannot tell you how many times I thought I was pg when actually my period was just late. So much wasted money on HPT's and blood tests. I could've written what you posted. That's my life.
I was never on Vitex, but was on metaformin and clomid to ttc.
Good luck!

I also suffer from PCOS and currently TTC. Every month I feel nausea and sore breasts, I just realize that these are PMS symptoms for me. It used to messed me up, since I confused those PMS symptoms with pregnancy symptoms.
My doctor gave me Provera in the past to help me get my period. It worked for me. Make an appointment with your Gyn.

Aside from following your doctor's orders, I suggest exploring some alternative medicine and nutritional programs.

Accupuncture may be helpful and Dr. John MacDougall's vegan program has helped many people.
