If you have lost your mucus plug is is still safe to have sex? If so, why? If not, why?

I would say NO and be prepared to go to the hospital soon.

Generally,yes as long as your waters haven't broken.This is because the baby is still completely surrounded by the membrane sac.As the first answerer suggested,you could check with your doc just to be on the safe side.I had sex in early labour,that baby practically flew out! (this was something actually suggested by a midwife to hurry things up,no I wasn't in hospital when we did it)

that's purely a question to your doctor, but in general there's a higher risk of infection to have sex if you lost your mucus plug.

As long as your water "HASN'T BROKE" and your doctor hasn't said "NO TO SEX" then your OK to do it. I lost my plug and had sex until my water was broken at the hospital. Nothing bad will happen... good luck :)
