Unless they can deal for someone better or get someone in the draft they will be forced to hang on to him. Unfortunately there are some players who never develop in the pros and it's looks like Grossman is one. I'd probably give him at least the first half of next year and see how he does. If there is no improvement sit him down.

i liked grossman, i know he is young, but we keep giving him second chances becuase he has a great game or two. Everyone keeps saying, well he did lead them to a superbowl, but in reality he did not lead the bears to a super bowl. The defense lead the bears to suuper bowl. Almost any quarterback in the league could of done what rex did. Theres know time to wait for rex to develope pyton manning like attributes. Why because the bears are ready NOW. They have what it takes to go all the way. They just need a solid and consistant QB. I think what they need to do is either pick on up in the upcoming draftk, or man up and go trader for a decent QB. I think Jeff Garcia would not be a bad trade. He will probably be available considering D.mcnabb will start next year. I think bears would of won with j. Garcia, and maybe even next year since everyone is comeing back on defense except for lance briggs who will probably resign anyway.

The Bears should hold onto him. Not every quarterback can be great, but Grossman isn't that bad. They need to get someone in the coaching staff that can teach him a few things about reading pass defenses, how to feel the rush coming on his back side, and just to flat out make better decisions with the football. All that can be cured with a little hard work and some more experience.

Late in SB 41, there were two INTs that had the balls been caught, the outcome of the Super Bowl may have been different.
Rex is like that long ball hitter in baseball. He strikes out a lot but when he hits, it's usually when the hit is needed and many times, it's a home run.
Don't forget, this past season was his first 16 game season and he went to the SB.
Pretty good I'd say.
Rex is a long ball thrower.
When he learns to lead the receiver to the ball, i.e. by hitting the receiver in stride, i.e. by throwing the ball AHEAD of the receiver instead of trying to hit the target, i.e. by trying to throw the ball to a spot; and when he gets that last little thing with his receivers, i.e. that PSYCHIC CONNECTION, he's gonna be hard to stop.
What should the Bears do about him, make him work out more with his receivers and help them develop that psychic connection.

Well, let's see here. Why did the Colts hold onto Peyton Manning for 8 years and he just now gets to win a Superbowl? Why? I will tell ya. Because they seen his potential, that's why. This is the first full year for Rex Grossman. They do not need to fix anything, cause it ain't broke. They need to keep him, but they also need to add to the mix. The Bears is an awesome team, they just need Grossman to grow and learn more.

dump him. no team can function well without a good QB. save the crap about how he got them to the superbowl. a better QB would have won the the super bowl. he obviously has talent to be in the nfl, but there are much better. his height hinders his ability to find recievers across the middle, so he tends to commit to the deep pass. this is where you have to question he QB coach. when he preps for the deep throw his entire body will drop low and his head jerks down so hes looking at his shoes. thats why he had i think 3 picks in the superbowl on fades or seams and very few completions. he has an nfl arm, but pop warner mechanics.

Rex Grossman is cool. Just because he choked at the Super Bowl, doesn't mean that he sucks. He just isn't very well under heavy rain like that. Have you seen heavy rain in Chicago? I haven't yet. He just needs to get with all types of weather. Bears are gonna be dead if they versed against the EAGLES. GO EAGLES!

Personally I don't see how some of you people say that he needs time to develop it's not like this is his rookie year. He's been playing since 03'.
It's time for a change in Chicago, I'm not saying that greise is better but maybe it's time for chicago to go trolling the free agency board for a decent QB. Maybe put Vick in Chicago that would be a pretty good combination.
My final answer is :
Trade his a**!!!!

They need to see how he starts out next season and start from there. The guy has talent just needs some time to develop. Think he got too overconfident from his success at the beginning of last year when all of his success came when the defense was putting up massive points. He had no stress to deal with because the game was well in hand. He just needs to learn how to play that way always. Relaxed and not try to push things.

The Bears should hold onto him but should try out Brian Griese at QB instead and put Grossman at backup to start.
