Perhaps your mother's perception of you is a little skewed, but perhaps you might need to show her that you will behave responsibly. As far as the costume goes, you're never too old - I know adults that go out every year w/their kids, and not just because they are out w/the kids do they wear a costume! One year in my son's Cub Scout Pack all the leaders dressed up. I'll never get over looking at a Den Leader as a Raggedy Ann - complete w/red nose!
As for the party, sit down and talk openly - and CALMLY AND RESPECTFULLY with your parents. Make sure they know that there will be adult supervision there (AHEM...I hope there would be at any case!). Make sure the mom of the kid giving the party calls and tells your mom this and that there will be rules in place, etc.etc.
And give your mom a break. Whatever the reason, she does love you. It's not just to make your life miserable that she does these things :). Trust me.

well thats stupid..... i went trick-or-treating (w/ a costume and all) last year w/ my friends and we were all 12-13 yrs old..... and then u cant got to a party..... i can SORTA understand where ur mom is coming from.... she probably doesnt want u to grow up yet..... it's a mom thing.... but u should just tell her it means alot to u to do one of the 2 things.... i would just sugggest (seeing as halloween is kinda far off) act mature so ur mom can see ur old enough to go to the party..... and about trick-or-treating ask her why she cares if she thinks ur too old.... if u dont think ur too old and dont care if others think ur too old u should be allowed to go.....

That's stupid! I'm am your age and I still go every year! I'm gonna keep trick-or-treating until college! Have a talk with your mom and explain that if you are to young to go to the party you're young enough to go trick-or-treating and if your too old to go trick-or-treating then you are old enough to go to the party.

Isn't halloween months away!!!
You should spend the next few months proving to your mom how grown up you are if you want to go to the party that she says your too young for!!!

And sometimes you dont get to do what you want i learned that the hard way. See if she'll let you go trick or treating for canned goods to donate to your local food bank, instead of candy. Some kids do that in my neighborhood and I think it's great!
PS I don't mind older kids coming trick or treating to my door as long as they put a little effort into their costumes ;-)

If you stopped complaining and acted mature about it , maybe you'll get somewhere in life. If you shape up before October, (look at a calender. It's February. You'll have plenty of time) maybe she'll let you go.
