My husband and I have been trying for 2 yrs to have a baby. Reading ppl's questions and answers on here has been helpful. I have not seen the egg white thing, does that mean I am no ovulating? My dr wants me to take my basil temp, but I have had a cold and/or stuffy nose for nearly a month and a half. so I can't take my temp. does anyone have any hopeful help for me? I am almost 30 and am finding it harder every day. please help. thanks.

You don't have to have the eggwhite cervical mucus (EWCM) to get pregnant. It is there to make the sperm live longer and swim better. Good luck!

I have to agree with mystic eye, when I concieved my oldest daughter, I used the urine tyoe ovulation pred. kits. It worked along with tracking my cervcial mucus, but after using for 6 mths. without fail, it ended up costing me a pretty penny. Now the salvia type was a little more expensive, but that one can be rinsed and re-used. So yes in the long that one is more cost effective. To answer your question, if the cervical mucus is has not changed, in my experience, no your probably not ovulating. I would definitely talk with my gyn, about this. Good luck and Best wishes!

Get a saliva ovulation kit so you will know if you are ovulating or not. Or there are urine ones but they are more expensive over the long term.
However after 1 year you should be referred for some tests. At the very least a sperm count and a test to make sure your tubes aren't blocked.

hi, i asked on here about "egg whites" because i noticed this month that i didnt really have any where as other months i had it really heavy.One lady told me to actually insert my finger in side my vagina as close to my cervix as i could get and feel around for the cervical mucus.Even though i didnt have the cm im quite sure i ovulated because im in pills to make me ovulate and i also had a postitive ovulation test, i know that doesnt always mean you have definatly ovulated but im sure i did ,so not having CM doesnt always mean that your not ovulating.I didnt ovulate and the doctor put me on clomid out of the three months in a row that i took them i fell pregnant twice (m/c with first) so if you suspect your not ovulating you could ask your doctor about that.good luck!!
