I don't because of women's changing hormones. Sometimes they get these emotions where they feel they need to buy something to make them feel better. Not really a good thing because then you can have a lot of debt before you know it and then their man will usually have to pay for it. That is why when I was married, I didn't allow my wife to have a credit card of her own. If she needed to make a purchase over 100 dollars she would have to ask and if I approved I could give her the money.

I want one but my husband refuses to add my name to the cards. :(

No problem; but they should be made to pay cash for anything less than $10.00. Every morning, I go to the convenience store for coffee. Inevitably, there will be women buying coffee and they whip out their card.

Do they get extra cash back? No. They simply wait until lunch. Then they go out with 3 other friends, split 2 meals and want separate bills. Out comes the card again; and if the poor waiter is lucky, he'll see a 10% tip.

For Christ's sake ladies, carry some cash on you!!!

No not all women have changing hormones.....I am the one that takes care of all the money in my home. I keep up with everything. The men around here go thur money unlike me. I am a saver and I have credit cards and I never even use them...Guess each person is different

Are you stuck in the 1940' 50' "If you approve".
Does your wife work - besides doing yours and your families dirty laundry, cooking, cleaning and I'm sure soooooo much more!!!! Giver her some credit.

How about your emotional spending - and I'm sure you've had some - all men have to have that big screen TV, that car that better than your friends and many other MALE items!!!

Get REAL and work together as a team - she must love you so have a little faith!

Good Luck!

LoL! funny.. i am actually VERY responsible w/ my credit card and bank account compared to most of my friends, men or women! a lot of people in general just don't know how to save, or allocate their money well. i believe that is a trend of not teaching good money habits as a young child, and not as huge of a problem because women have "emotional instability" as you are saying.... lol..

actually, in many cultures it is Women who are in charge of the bank account!! the man makes the money, and sometimes women do too, but the one in charge of expenses and taking care of bills are actually the woman...that is a very good partnership~ u need to make sure before u get married that the woman u marry is responsible fiscally..... :) as women need to make sure that their future husband is responsible as well~

I think they should because if they do go over their limit they can always learn from their mistakes. Also it would be discriminating against women if they were not allowed to own a credit card.

I think you're generalizing. I manage all of the finances in my household, and my husband prefers it that way. Sure, there are some women who probably shouldn't have credit cards. There are probably also some men who shouldn't have credit cards.

It's a free country, so why not?

I mean, we do have women drivers. Women on jury duty. Women golfers. Women can give birth. I mean, that's a new deal. Like natural childbirth, not with the drugs and the C-section. Sure, why not? Banks need to say "Welcome aboard!"

You're a bit sexist but I do agree with some of your points. Sometimes women do buy things if they are depressed.
