I took two Answer brand test, they both had two lines on them but one was dark the other one that indicates pregnant was the lightest shade of pink. I took a dollar tree test and there was no line which was saying negative. what do you guys think. I am going to go to the doctor I just wanted some extra opinions before I do!!! thanks

A line is a line. Some lines are darker simply because the amount of dye in a test can vary, even within the same brand. Different brands of tests are designed to detect a certain level of HCG, so the negative result was probably a less-sensitive test.

Well I think it means your pregnant. Tests can give a false negative... but I haven't heard about false positives. Make a appointment with your doctor to get things checked out by them. Congrats.

the dollar tree tests *thats the one i took* probably uses a stronger amount of HCG to determine a positive pregnancy. if the two more expensive ones said positive, then definately go to the dr to take a test there. Good luck and God bless!

your pregnant. i took 5 test and the lines were light in the beginning that as time went on they got darker.. congrats. it is the best thing..

Usually a faint line = pregnant!

even if the positive line is barely there, its still a positive. Brace yourself for when the doctor tells you you are having a little one. Congratulations!

false negatives are very common but false positives are uncommon so congrats!
