In women's tournaments during the last round the scores are usually 6-1, 6-2 for example and I've seen very seldom girls going to tie-break while that is not uncommon for men.

Women generally arent as consistent as men on a game to game basis. You see a lot more breaks of serve in the womens game because most of them generally have similar strength and power levels ( a few women aside ), and so not too many of the women have dominating service games. So, if a woman can hold her serve twice in one set, you know that she will break her opponents serve at least , and so she will almost automatically have a 3 game advantage. There are also generally more errors in the womens games because the points arent as well constructed as in the mens game, and the women like to have quicker and less exhausting p[oints.

Also, in the womens game there is a great gulf in between the differing talent levels. The top 5 players are clearly better than the next ten players, the top 20 players dominate the players ranked lower, for the most part. Whereas in the mens game, Federer aside, anyone in the top 50 can beat anyone else on their given day. This rarely happens in the womens game.

There is less depth in the women's game than the men's game, especially in early rounds of tournaments.

In men's tennis, if the 3rd ranked player played the 50th ranked player, it might turn out to be a close match, but in women's tennis it is 6-1, 6-2

Because history shows us that women's tennis is usually dominated by one or two superstars. This would usually end up with lopsided finals in all rounds.

Personally, I think that Federer just toys with the opponent for three sets, then starts playing. That's why his matches even look close.

ya i would reckon some of them might win!why not? Remember in 1973 when Billie Jean King beat Bobby Riggs(a former Wimbledon men's champion who had been ranked the "World's Number 1" for the years 1941, 1946, and 1947) in the "Battle of the Sexes"

Because they don't have the competition level that men do. Give me all the thumbs down you like,as the asker has pointed out girls seldom go to a tie break, where men do.

alot of the time you'll see soem women who are more competitive than others playing against someone that isn't the competitive...plus, women like to be way ahead of the person they are beating to make sure they win.

When women are winning they want to totally demolish their opponent.
