It is a rather dirty spheniscus demersus, the Jackass or Black-footed penguin of southern Africa. The clue is the extent of pink skin around the eye and the white spots on the beak The three South American spheniscus penguins do not have as much pink skin exposed. I can't see any sign of a chest band which means it could be a juvenile.

It is not a macaroni or any of the crested penguins. All of them have pink bills.

i actually did alot of searching because I've never seen a penguin like that before. I still don't know. Here is a link with several penguin species. the beak kind of looks like the african penguin, but i don't know what juvinile or female feathering looks like.

It's spelled "reproductive". Just take the cover of a Happy Feet DVD and add a big wang?

I think its a juvenile Macaroni Penguin. The bill shape looks right for that. My husband agrees. He has travelled extensively birding in the southern hemisphere.

It's a juvenile, I can tell you that much.

I'm guessing it's probably an Emperor penguin, but it may be in the midst of moulting to its adult plumage - or maybe it has mange or something.
