Absolutely, why not?!
It's just hard to make a love like this into a permanent relationship.

Yes!!! My fiancee and I fell in love and couldn't touch each other for almost a year. We talked on the phone everyday though and became best friends. No one knows me better than he does and no one knows him better than I do. We fell in love with each other as people not anything physical. Love should be based on this and not on the physical aspect of things. I strongly believe that it's possible to fall in love with someone through communication no matter where they are.
You said he is across the world, will the two of you ever see each other? I mean there has to be traveling on someone's part. Will one of you ever travel to where the other one is? If it is true love then it will be and nothing (especially not distance) will break that. I wish you all the best of luck.

Yes. I fell in love with a man who lived 1400 miles from me. We met on the internet and got to know each other very well just by writing and communicating with each other constantly. We had an unbelievable connection that eventually led to meeting one another.
I knew when we met that he was the one for me and that I was in love. I know it sounds crazy and I didn't believe it was possible, but our communicating by phone and email really did lead to love. I got to know my partner inside and out before we were ever physical and I really believe that is what made our connection so strong. The relationship started as friends and eventually led to so much more. Then when we finally met we both realized we were in love.
To end on a happy note, we are now happily married 3 years later. Of course there is compromise. I had to leave my family to start a new family, but it was definitely worth it! I wouldn't change a thing.

I think that you can fall in love with who you think he is. And you can even love the person who you think he is. In order to know who he truly is tho usually takes being with the other person.
On the net you can be whoever you want to be...and present whatever sides of yourself you want others to see...or not. I think there are a lot of people on the net with integrity but you will also find alot of decievers as well...just like in real life!
As someone who has had internet, long distance AND IRL (!) relationships I have found it usually requires face to face seeing the person often in different situations to really be in reality love rather than internet love...hope this helps...*smile*
