Take her to the hospital and call the police

I would be supportive and take her to the hospital myself to have a rape kit done. I was raped many years ago and the worst thing (hearing from my own boyfriend) that I wasn't raped, that I had asked for it!! I had to deal with that on my own and it wasn't fun not having any moral support!

Listen, listen, listen and periodically ask her if there is anything you can do for her. If at all possible, recommend that she go in for a check-up. This is essential whether or not she wants to prosecute for her own health and safety. If she opts to go to the hospital to be checked, be her advocate, remind the hospital staff that while this may be their 100th rape, it's her first.

You can also reassure her that whatever it took for her to survive the attack was the right thing for her to do. That this isn't her fault. And then, again, listen.

Insist that she speak to professionals and be examined. Offer to go with her for support. She should consider the "day after pill" to prevent pregnancy and should be checked for AIDS/Hepatitis, etc. She should also have access to professionals who can offer counseling. Rape must be reported and doing that has become much easier on the victims.

If you can get her to be checked out at the hospital (rape kit) please do it. It will be one of her only chances to win if she's EVER ready to press charges. If not though, don't push too much, just be there. There's NOTHING that you can say to make it better right away but your campany will hopefully be comforting until SHE decides to do what's best for her.

I would go to her right away and make sure she was alright. Then take her to the hospital and never leave her side, no matter what!! Once she's alright, I would hunt down the bastard and kill him!!
