Oh, you and I might follow that rule, Honey....but nowadays...anything goes. I still have eyeball spasms from being at a wedding recently and seeing the server at the dinner AT A COUNTRY CLUB waiting on tables with a bright purple bra under her white uniform! The Bride herself nearly fainted! I guess some people these days are raised by wolves! My mother NEVER let me out of the house without a nude/beige bra and slip under white clothing, but today, young ladies (and I use that term loosely) don't even know what slips ARE! But I digress...

Heaven forfend is just an old-fashioned way of saying heaven forbid.

It's a pretentious way of saying forbid. Only someone trying to impress you with their 'intelligence' would use it.

forfend is a real word (archaic) and yes, he/she is using it correctly.

Of course it is, just slightly more old fashioned. It's an archaic word now, often used in a humourous way.

Yeah, it means the same thing. 'Forfend' means 'to fend off, avert, or prevent'.
