Question

Some guy is going around trying to get a law passed that states that anyone that is married must procreate before 3 years time or their marriage will be annulled. Anyone who can not procreate can not get married. What do you think about this law because I think it's a bunch of crap. Some married people don't want kids, why force them esp. with the abundance in population!!!

It is a Washington state activist gay activist group that is trying to turn the tables on the anti-homosexual marriage laws in force today. Pretty much saying that if the natural order of things is a man/woman marriage is meant for procreation, therefore survival of the species, then if people aren't procreating together they can't be married. I don't think that you have to worry about this ever being passed.

As for the guy that posted limiting the size of families, that is insane as well. My parents have 8 children (5 adopted through CPS) and my husband's parents had 7 children (all their own) 2 families, 15 children, and never a government hand out. A mandate limiting the number of children that a family can have only creates situations that took place in countries such as China, an astronomical number of abortions, and the slaughter of newborn babies.

There's this other man that is going around telling 25% of the population that they can't get married at all.

Another guy is suggesting that they have civil unions instead, because it's equal, just different. They tried the same thing with black people in the past, it didn't work then either.

The law you are talking about will never pass, the law against gay people marrying did pass. Discrimination is wrong in all it's forms.

I agree, some couples or marriages are not meant for children nor should we ever pass a law stating everyone who gets married have children. The way the world is these days, I think we should limit each household or married, not married for that matter to two children only!

I honestly think it is a ridiculous idea. There are people who are just so ignorant. There are people who don't want children for whatever reason and then there are people who are just unable to have children. That puts unnecessary pressure on a marraige. The first 3 years should be about getting to know your spouse, adjusting to and enjoying the newlywed life. It absolutely absurd.

I saw this on the internet today and I think he is wasting his time trying to come up with 250,000 signatures of registered voters. No one should tell anyone that they must have children in order to be in a legal union.

dont know who this guy is but maybe within 3 yrs he should have twins and spend the rest of his life raising them,i cant see where in our free United States he has a right to tell anyone anything,sounds like he needs to be told

if anything they should start a law that you have to pass certain tests or regulations in order to procreat...make people get licensed to have kids.....
