I'm a 12 year old and I'd love to scream at my dad for smoking in the house so much, he shows no symptoms of asthma, yet I do.

I don't know if I truly have asthma, just a few symptoms. My airway is a tad tighter and I have sudden, out-of-nowhere coughing fits, my doctor said I have bronchitis/mild asthma and that it'll go away in days with the asthma pump, which I never use in fear of having it worse.

I don't know if it's gotten worse.

Can someone tell me if mild/moderate astmha is reversible? I don't want just a 'yes' or 'no', give me an article or something, I've searched everywhere, yet some sites/books say it is reversible, and some say it isn't.

Use your puffer - it will give you some relief and will not make anything worse.

The doctor did say bronchitis/mild asthma so don't get in a panic. The asthma is probably related to the bronchitis and will clear up with the bronchitis.

However, your Dad is creating a bad environment for your health and really should be smoking outside to respect the health of the rest of his family. He may never get asthma from smoking but there are a whole lot of other diseases that he is putting himself at risk for as well as the rest of you.

I hope he either quits and takes it outside for your sake....

When you have bronchitis it is difficult to breath which is why you would have been given the asthma puffer even me I used to have bad asthma when I was younger I had to go the hospital a fair bit I'm 28 now and I am much better now then what I used to be It is only I get the cold or the flu I might have to use my puffer but it's not on a daily basis it just sounds like that might be the kind of problem you will have, if you had full blown asthma you would know believe me you would be wheezing and no matter how hard you tried you can't get any air in unless you have your puffer with you or you can get to a hospital. Just use the puffer as your doctor has told you to you can always go back and see the doctor if you don't seem to be improving after a while. However you should definitely stay away from cigarette smoke.

It depends on what kind of Asthma you have as to whether it is reversible or not.
There are many kinds of asthma: "regular asthma" - born with it, allergy-induced asthma, and exercise-induced asthma.

For your kind (allergy-induced), which seems triggered by smoking, it won't go away and will get worse, unless your father stops smoking in the house and around you.
Your parents need to wake up about this dangerous situation for you and they need to do something to get your father to stop smoking in your environment. Your health depends on it!
