you obviously don't know anything about black culture, because if you did then you would know that rap is not black culture. All black people don't listen to rap. That's like saying that cowboys are the most respected figures in white culture because a lot of white people like country music. I didn't know that you could define a whole culture on one genre of music. Wow and all this time I was looking up to people like Martin Luther King Jr and Oprah Winfrey when I should have been looking up to pimps, thanks, you learn something new everyday.

You are speaking of rap culture which does not include all blacks. If you were black living in a police state where you were hunted, would respect the hunter? You would find something that relates to what your people do in your local area. If you lived in the Suburbs you would look at local black politicans, if you were in the ghetto you would look to the guys with the nicest cars and were avoiding detection by the man. Am I right or not?

I think you mean "hip hop culture".
They are the most respected in Hip Hop because they're beyond awesome. I mean, they abuse women, drive Cadillacs, and wear an obscene amount of fur. That's just awesome.
Sadly, many black people instead look to figures like Martin Luther King Jr. (didn't wear fur), Thurgood Marshall (drove a Ford), and Malcolm X (only abused white establishment).
I'm glad I'm white and idolize people like Richard Petty and Toby Keith... now those are heroes.

Sweetheart, you have Black culture ****** up! Why is your opinion about our culture based on rap videos?
Now days, the word "pimp" doesn't literally mean " *****, go sell your **** and bring me back my money or I'm gonna whoop yo' a$$!" It can be used it many different contexts. Haven't you seen the show Pimp My Ride? It has nothing to do with prostitution. Open your eyes asshole!

Obviously, you've never lived in a black ghetto.
I lived in a Cuban ghetto, but it was close to a black ghetto.
Anyway, pimps arent trying to do anything more than make money cuz theyre a bunch of low lifes who failed school miserably.
Honestly, its white people that popularize them and make them seem glorious!
They say im gone pimp slap a B**** but they dont know the hurt that it causes the prostitutes.
Theyre a bunch of bullies.

There are black scientists, just as there are black doctors, paleontologists,
anthropologists and in every other "cerebral"profession .Pimps are only respected by people that cant make it past the ghetto mentality and stereotypical generalizations. They are not respected by the law abiding educated public, of any color.

Are you really basing your opinions on "Black culture" on music videos?
What the hell is wrong with you?
How about I base my opinion on White people on the D.W. Griffith film "Birth of a Nation"?
It wasn't just racist, it was historically inaccurate.
But is that important to you? Or do you prefer thinking we all want to be pimps and drug dealers?

Gangsters, not Pimps are what your seeing in Rap videos.
And its all about the "bling" that makes them like the pied-piper to the inner city youth.
Its a sad, sad thing that more positive black role models can't be embraced. Look at Condi Rice, Colon Powell, Tiger Woods... Now thats who the youth should espire to be.
