Homosexuality or racism. In my opinion we have along way to go on both issues, but if i had to pick which one we have made progress in the most it would be racism. Simply because us black people are not slaves any more but i kind of feel that progression has stalled since then.

I really think there is just a percentage of people who are what they are... Things are never going to be ideal for anyone. The trick is to enjoy what you got, and do the best you can loving yourself and others in your own way. There is always going to be some idiot making it seem like the world is out of whack and not tolerant. The truth there are people who are with you and care deeply for the same things you do...

I think they really go hand in hand, but that homophobia will be resolved (or at least diminished in mainstream culture to the point of non-issue) first. Racism - all bigotry, really - runs so deeply in this country that it will take an incredible amount of time and effort to eradicate it completely. Look at the stories we hear today about people being arrested, hassled, descriminated against simply because they APPEAR to be Middle Eastern. Racism is growing and changing faces and I really have to wonder whether we are really any better off than we were 40 years ago. Homophobia is a form of racism, and I think it may go out of fashion in favor of other forms of hate. Sad and scary, but true.
Keep loving and fighting...

Neither will be eradicated first because its human nature to dredged up as much pain against others as possible sad but a fact if its not a majority against its the majority for.
Look in your heritage you will see your nation was an is stronger your not a lazy load of sit on its that you had to have slaves but you also have to remember a lot of white people did a hell ofa lot to get emancipation for your ancestors also
i would choose the Homosexulity at a push because what the hell is it to anyone whom your having legal sex with.
Racism will be around for a lot longer but i dont believe it should be

Some of these people who have answered your question sound racist themselves. I agree with Raynebow Diva. Racism and homosexuality dont have anything to do with eachother at all! So why join the two?? It doesnt make any sense.

I am sick and tired of black people talking about slavery. You were never a slave, your parents were never salves, your grandparents were never slaves. Collectively I wonder if the 7 of you have done a day of work in your life!
Get over it - and stop whining about something nearly 200 years old!~~~
No wonder there hasn't been a black president yet, you are sitting around complaining too much.

Now i just hate to come in here and burst your little bubble but homosexuality is NOT a problem to be solved. You are mixing apples and watermelons here honey. Racism is something hateful and malicious that has caused immeasurable amounts of pain and stress. Homosexuality is a lifestyle preference. Flat out. Two people loving eachother is never a problem as long as both are consenting adults. Get over yourself & your ignorance. Thank you & have a nice day.

Blacks made tremendous inroads into racism in the 60's with "burn, baby, burn." perhaps it is time to burn again. It is too bad that so many blacks have such negative feelings about gays, for as a combined group, their power would be overwhelming. Racism and homophobia would disappear overnight, if for no other reason than fear!

Neither will ever be 100% resolved. However, they will become more accepted and "normalized."
