when i plug my ipod video to my computer it shows the do not disconnect symbol like it should do, but then it disappears and disconnects to the computer. what should i do to keep it connected to the computer?

sounds like it's just staying up long enough to sync. Disable sync in itunes and try it again.

You may have to manually double click in My Computer
if that doesn't work it may be a connection problem in the
iPod's port, the USB cable, or your computers USB port.
