ok. my problem is mostly with guys. I am a preaty girl, great personality, great friends, athletic, smart. but i have a big problem. I have crooked teeth. I am going to get braces, but my family doesn't have the money right now. (taxes). I am made fun of this by boys and girls. whenever I talk to someone, they look at my teeth so I don't talk alot anymore. I have been ask about a million times "when are you getting braces" and it is really hard on valentines day because all my friends get valentines and I don't. How do i get guys to notice me and not my teeth. and How do I get people to look at me when we talk.

First off, I'd like to apologize for other's ignorance!
People can be down right rude and offensive!
Second, you're right. You do seem like a smart girl with a great personality. And even though it is tough, you have to try to not let them bother you so much.
I went through the exact same thing. And my appointment for my braces isn't until March. And I'm 21 years old. But you know what, I'm married to the man of my dreams!!!!
It's not about the outside appearance all the time. You have to find someone who likes you for you. That fun, loving, great personality you have going for yourself.
It is gonna be tough until you get your braces (off). But until then, you don't want to be stuck with a fake boyfriend anyway. They are nothing but trouble.
Continue to be yourself. And I hope this helped and wish ya the best!

I know it may suck not to have a valentine! and it hurts when others pick fun at you.. But really in the long run it won't matter!
You will find out who your true friends are this way!
well unless you want a hole bunch of meaningless friends then worry a lot about it!
but you seem like a good human so don't worry about it! and really it's out of your control and your teeth is who you are! like it or not..
but if you show that your not comfortable with yourself others notice and will poke fun.. so be happy that your different and understand that once you become happy with your own defaults others will not have the courage to pick on you at.. don't get me wrong you will always have thoese times that will pick on you i'm almost 30 and i see people pick on others for what they wear how they talk and all that stuff but they really have no room to talk but it's really there low self esteem and they would pick on someone else because they most likely wouldn't be able to handle being different so they just follow the crowd!
you seem like a leader not a follower!
next time someone ask when are you going to get braces just say when you give me the money for them! smile big and hold out your hand! they will leave you alone! maybe not over night so give it some time!
you sound like a great person don't let Fake friends bring you down!
Mad luv

having crooked teeth has never been a big problem, yes straight teeth look better but what counts the most is hygiene. Do you brush your teeth every day? Do you floss? Do you have a fresh breath. Take care of them and be patient someday you'll have your teeth straightened. Be careful not to accept any other alternative from some "doctors" like ceramic crowns, surgeries or anything of that kind that would add up complications. Talk As much as you want and act like you don't care, make fun of it and people will stop making fun of you on purpose to embarrass you. Remember they try to embarrass you because you are pretty, you're smart you're great, you are the total package. Be proud of yourself you are a human being not just a bunch of teeth. Anyway you're luckier than those who for instance lost their teeth or those who have mouth cancer. See your case is not too bad. I used to have crocked teeth and instead of getting braces I did ceramic crowns and now I regret it. People even tell me that I looked better when I had crocked teeth. I did the ceramic crowns when I was a teenager because people pressured me they made fun of me like they are doing to you now! Please ignore them. One more thing: I am sure you got some other beautiful assets(like your eyes maybe?) .. Use the right make up to bring up your eye color and put lots of mascara and your nicest smile. You go girl:)!

It really shouldn't matter what people think, as long as you feel good about yourself. People tend to be insensitive when it comes to other people, and not care about their feelings. Just don't let that get to you. It is a problem, but you can fix it, and you will. If people don't appreciate what's on the inside, and only start noticing you after getting braces, then you can measure how superficial they are. You will find somebody. And remember what it feels like, it'll help you not do the same to other people. Hope that helps!

Try not to get down on yourself. May I ask how old you are? It sounds to me like you're in middle school or high school. I just want to let you know that people are really stupid and mean during that age period. As you get older and enter the "real world", all of that stuff isn't as important. People will see the real you and appreciate what makes you different and special. I know that sounds really lame and cliche` but it's true. When you are in high school, everyone is so concerned with fitting in that it becomes so cookie-cutter. Trust me, later on you'll look back and be amazed at how things change. I know this probably doesn't seem to help you now, but keep your head up and know that things will be fine. Hang in there and try to learn to love yourself. :)

don't let them bring you down. Think about in 3-4 years when you are really pretty teeth and all the guys want to be your valentine. Trust me it only gets better and if they can't look at you when you are talking then I wouldn't even bother talking to them. Stick to your true friends.
Happy Valentines Day!
