I am 18 and I have been working at my mom's restaurant since age 14. It's closed down now so I have to find a job. I'm looking for a job at clothing stores, restaurant, etc... What should I wear?? I don't think a suit is necessary. Also, I look a lot younger than 18, maybe 14-15. Sad, i know. But what do you guys recommend??

I would say dress pants, a sweater, or a button up dress shirt and closed toe shoes. That is what I always wear to interviews, I got hired for most of those jobs.

Dress pants and a nice sweater with pumps. Or a nice skirt if you don't want to do dress pants but make sure it's not too short like a mini skirt or anything like that. Maybe something knee length or just above the knee. I wouldn't go with anything shorter or longer for that matter. As for your sweater or blouse- make sure it's suitable. By this I mean, no skin hanging out, a bit more on the conservative side, no boobs showing. Hope this helped.

It`s usually recommended to wear `conservative`clothing in darker colours, but it also depends where you are looking. Some places want to see casual. In your case, I agree that a suit would be too much. A nice (not too short) skirt or pants with a shirt should be good. For clothing stores I would try to wear some of the clothes they sell, to show you are knowledgeable about their product.

Always dress more formally than you normally would for an interview. If you have a suit, that is an easy answer.

Otherwise, I like to go with a more formal style - black or camel pant and a sweater set or some crap like that. Think mature and boring. That said, I do like to throw in a top that is somewhat unusual or a necklace that has proved to be a conversation piece in the past. That way, if they don't remember your name, they may remember your groovy necklace or your unique top.

Dress for your body type. Don't wear clothes that are too tight or too loose.
