Why don't we appreciate Latinos?

I am part Latino myself and feel that the Americans should be greatful to have these immigrants...Imagine a day without them? They do all the dirty work and for some reason Whites seem to complain the most about them. I think we should be thankful we have them here....does anyone agree or disagree? Yes, I know they come here illegal at times, but it is to better themselves and families...what is wrong with that? And why on earth do everyone seem to think that just Mexicans come here illegally...there are many foreignors who come here illegal so why just focus on the Mexicans? No I am not Mexican, but I feel we need to quit picking on them and thank them for once!!!

We focus on Mexicans because they are the largest group of illegals. Or so I've been led to believe.

Americans appreciate nothing. they keep talking about American culture but American culture IS latin, African, European, and Asian. We are more influenced by these than by Native Americans.

I guess the real question is why don't you appreciate Latino's since you included yourself in your question/statement. Latino's is a term used to lump all the mexicans, hispanics, etc. into one group so it is easier to classify. I don't mean to burst your bubble Shonnett but not all Latino's do all the dirty work. That's just how ignorant people portray them because we've had ignorant Latinos portray themselves as that. We can say that for every other race. Latinos are barely learning how to work together and placing their pride aside so we are off to a slower start than most. I don't believe in doing someone's homework for them. Just pointing them in the right direction. I would reference the White House's staff cabinet. Also look at Congress' senators. The Chicago Bears. Several music stars, some t.v. and a few movie stars. Start watching the credits. You'd be surprised how many have a Latino last name. Learn to chose your words if your trying to make a statement. Someone is probably reading it. You can either fuel the fire or help people see things in a different perspective. Hope that helps. , )

Because they come here illegally and don't pay taxes but seem to get all the free services that I pay taxes for. I was born here, and my ancestors came here legally, but I can't afford healthcare for my family but I pay taxes so that an illegal immigrant can get healthcare and food stamps. Why should we be grateful? Whites, Blacks, Aisians, etc have done dirty jobs for years. A meat packing job out here in Tenn used to pay 19 an hour, but now that they hire exclusively illegals, it pays 9.....tell me again why we should appreciate them or any illegal immigrants? You want to work here and live here, come here legally and pay your taxes. Simple.
