I once saw at a friends, she had a pic of her and her bf with a caption underneath , but she had made it look like a newspaper clipping, I no longer have contact with her, so can anyone tell me what program can perform that kind of effect. thanks

I would go with Adobe photoshop CS2.. it is by far one of the best out there if not the utmost best.

For beginners, the easiest program(to me) to use is Paint Shop Pro. For more advance graphics, you can use Photoshop. I use Paint Shop Pro 7 myself and I sometimes get confused my Photoshop.

Gimp is good, but complicated and free... Photoshop is good, but expensive (and complicated)...
go to kodak's website and register and download thir easyshare software which will let you do what you want and is free and you dont even have to have a camera

photoshop, paintshop pro are good to do that sort of thing. there are many filters you can download to help create certain effects.
