Ladies, what do you think? has the constant eye on hollywood pregnancies made it easier or harder on "real" pregnant women today? I personally feel even more pressure to dress well and stay in shape when really I'd just like to take a nap and wear sweats. What do you think?

I totally agree w/ you!!! I'm 8 1/2 months now and even my maternity clothes don't cover the bottom of my belly, so I wear my hubby's clothes most of the time, and feel horrible when i see some skinny actress that's due any day now with barely a bump and looking totally fresh and happy when i can't even sleep for an hour at a time at night anymore!! It's so unfair! just once they should leak a picture of someone who I could mistake for a REAL pregnant woman!!!

It really is a matter of personal opinion. When you are pregnant you are entitled to anything you feel like doing, as long as it keeps you happy and healthy.
Do not sweat about other women's looks as they are just looks - you don't really know HOW they feel - which is way more important.
After all it's not that hard to find comfortable but cute clothes to wear so you feel both comfy and pretty, and that will keep up your always changing mood :))
I was 119 lbs before I got pregnant. I gained 35 lbs during my pregnancy, had a 7 lbs baby and returned to 117 lbs in about 7 months. I did not workout ( no time, power or desire) but I can tell for sure - when you are pregnant - you eat for you and your baby , truly make every bite count. No diets - but what I did was to skip desserts or sweets. This stuff DOES NOT do any good for you or your baby and will all show up after you give birth.
Everything else - even those carbs and fats you will need to take in for proper development of your baby.

I see it both ways. I am early on in my pregnancy, but I'm already feeling the pressure to not gain too much weight in order to stay healthy. Also, I feel the same way about wanting to wear comfy clothes and nap, especially with the loss of energy I have been feeling. But having said that, I do want to be a cute pregnant woman, hehe!

i think it all comes down to each individual pregnant woman, if you are inclined to dress well, and "keep up appearances" before pregnancy then you will be more inclined to do so while pregnant. All of us react differently to pressure of all sorts, my personal solution to people pressuring me or to feeling pressure about things is to do the exact opposite of what "they" want me to do.

Naps and sweats are all the rage in this house!

Why would you feel pressure to be like someone who has a personal trainer, personal chef and personal stylist? Take your nap and wear your sweats, your pregnant for cripes sake its your one time to relax. Let them be the ones who are over stressed about how to look.
