Sometimes I type it like that as a slang word such as "Gurl, listen to what I heard about Lisa!" It is a term of endearment between me and my friends!

I'ts a slang alright like the real thing if you spoke out. if I had trouble with you I could say it like you understood my claws at ya for instance (""Whaaaat Yow moMma- Gurl Yu about to git smaCKed"') and you say some hating thing back . I love slang fow shure.

Not a typo- just being cutesy, like C U Later, or LOL, or any kind of "alternate" choices with creative spelling or abbreviation.

it probably originated as a typo, but got adopted to internet terminology...plus, Gurl.com is a pretty popular site
