My wife moved from one office to another at her company a few months ago. I wanted to get a friend of hers to place something on her desk so when my wife got to work this morning, there it was. I don't know any of her new coworkers, so I called a friend of my wife's to ask for someone to help me out.
She gave me the name of the person, her email etc. I wrote her an email telling her my name, husband of wife etc. Want to put something on her desk, need help, referred by friend etc. I said if she didn't want to be a "co-conspirator" she would understand.

This woman freaked out and forwarded it to their security staff, thinking this was some kind of bomb threat?!?!? I got a call from a security manager asking me to give him a reason not to call the police! This woman told the security guy she does not know my wife.

We both know her! We had Christmas dinner with her for God's sake! Security guy threatened to send the cops anyways to "show how serious this is"

What??

Speaking as a security office he just might be one of them Clint eastwood Jesse James type who cant pack a gun see why the first thing would not be to call you but I would have handle it in house first before it got that far some people are wound so tight since 9/11they think everybody trying to blow them up. PEOPLE RELAX !!!!!

Yeah that security guard and the woman who called him are morons. Tons of people get presents sent to them at work on V-day with a co-workers assistance and it's no big deal. I would call the security guards bluff and let him call the cops. They will laugh their asses off at him.

You didn't mention Al-Qaeda in your email, did you? I would have to change my answer then...

This life is so full of spilled beans, isn't it? Next time just leave her gift in her car or table in the morning like my man has for 34 years.
