My mom actually had it done after she had me. I would reccommend really making sure that you don't want to have any more children before going through the process though. Talk to you obgyn or doctor and they will be able to set something up for you. Remember though, as with any surgery, there are risks. Like I said, my mom had it done after having me (1987) and about two years ago she had what is called a tubular pregnany. A fetus actually started growing in one of her tubes and had she not gone to the doctor as quickly as she did, the tube would have burst and killed her.
Perhaps just taking the pill is a better idea but yes you can get it done. I hope all goes well for you!

As young as you are, most Dr's are going to want you to try some other kind of BC before going the surgical route. I, personally, wouldn't do it. I had mine done when I was 25 and I regret it now. At the time, I was certain that I didn't want anymore kids. Now, 3 and 1/2 years later, I wished I could have another. But I can't, or at least I am not supposed to. Look at all your options before going down this path. Try an IUD or something first. Then if you are absolutely sure that you don't want anymore, after so long, have it done if it's still something that you want to do. I wish you the best.

I don't know if times have changed but in 1992 I gave birth to my daughter. It was a high risk pregnancy so while I was in the hospital I requested to have my tubes tied. They needed written permission from my husband which he gave but the hospital decided they would not do it since I was only 28 & might change my mind. What the idiots didn't seem to understand was that another pregnancy could have given a child severe birth defects. 14 years later I still only have that 1 child & I'm grateful I had no more

Ha! VERY UNLIKELY..unless you have some sort of gynecological illness or mental illness that is bad enough it warrants you having your tubes tied, it is not going to happen anytime soon hon. I know it isn't fair ..believe me if they woulda just "fixed" me when i said i was DONE to begin with it woulda stopped a lot of heart ache from happening in my life and others. I knew i didn't want more at 21 but noooo everyone including the doctors said " you don't know at this age, you will want more later..blah blah blah"....it is total B.S.!! Ummm and yeah I STILL HAVE ONLY 1 TO THIS DAY! 13 YEARS LATER! and i went through tubes tied due to illness later anyways and a hysterectomy the idiots! Hummmm...just hit edit..realized you have 2.....they MIGHT in your case....thought you only had 1....brain fart...i know thumbs down.

Just talk with your doctor. They may fuss because you're young, but at your age, you have the legal right to the surgery. Although as someone who's worked in family planning, and know so many people do end up changing their minds, have you considered an IUD? They're very effective and work for 10 years!

why don't you get an IUD? You never know if you will want kids in the future. Anyway, it is possible to get your tubes tied, or cut. Just go to your local clinic.

I'm very much lost!! What do tubes have to do with having babies. All you have to do is stop having sex. No 'cutting tubes and tie' . Whatever that means.
Some people can be so........
